The "E-meter" is nothing more than a harmless device that measures changes
in bodily electrical resistance.

This resistance is affected by the emotional state and nervous system of the
person connected to it with handheld metal cans.

The changes in resistance it indicates reveal emotional responses to
questions asked. Emotional responses below the level of conscious awareness
are often indicated, and thus it is useful as an aid to psychotherapy.

The fact that con-man L. Ron Flubbard created a greedy, unscrupulous cult
based on psychotherapy (Dianetics) using the E-meter does not negate the
potential value of the E-meter's application.

An "e-meter" per se is bullshit.
