From: Michael on 29 Nov 2005 13:32 As the medical community begins to become more knowledgeable on the presentations of Celiac disease, I am curious what all of you out there expierence?? My DX is still out. I think my GF diet messed up the blood tests, and perhaps the biopsy. My Anti-Gliadin IgA was positive, all others neg. The biopsy was also neg. Response to a GF diet has been nothing less than a miracle!!! Here are my symptoms: A "typical" recation for me starts about 1.5 hrs after ingesting "bad" food. It starts with nausea and stomach discomfort. Belching begins at the same time, very rancid. About 5-6 hours later, vomiting begins. The vomiting spell lasts about 3-4 hours. the following few days I have fatigue, lack of appetite (more of a feeling of fullness, as if my system is all gummed up). Milk products seem to present with the same symptoms, but I think that my tolerance for Dairy is getting better the longer I am GF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Though it is now clearing up (Thank God), I've had a polyarthiritic condition that was quite debilitating, lower back, neck, shoulders, hands, elbows, knees, feet, toes, fingers, just about everywhere. Got so bad I couldn't walk, couldn't use my hands at times, etc. Had Fibromylgia which is also clearing up now!!!! Before I went GF / DF I also had diarreah went I had vomiting, as well as SEVERE abominal pain during the full episode. However since I have been GF, and after other episodes DF, these have not been present. I suppose this topic could get a bit gross, but what are your symptoms like????

From: Dede Wolf on 2 Dec 2005 10:59 My symptoms: A sick feeling hard to explain. Some sort of flu or maybe poison. AWFUL. A sick feeing like you must go to bed and tomorrow you'll feel better. Except tomorrow you don't. I can actually wonder if I might possibly die, but when I'm that ill I feel no panic 'cause I'm too ill to care! Bowels are a disaster most the time. Can't travel far from a restroom. Even pee pee pee often. My poor bodies effort to rid itself of the offending thing I guess. However, this is the tricky part. I'm not positive the offender is gluten. I have had two sm. bowel biopsys and I have no little cilli? so it came back Sprue/Celiac. However, I as not convinced of it. I insisted on a sonogram of whole stomach area and lo and behold a large fluid/puss abcess or cyst was found in my liver. I had it drained under a ct scan guided needle (painless, no big deal) and even as I walked out of the building I felt better!!!!! There was never a diagnoses on the pus because they lost it! I swear to you, they LOST it. The cyst came back since then, split in two and the second half spread all over the place in the liver. Jeeeeeeez. I don't want you to start crying, LOL, but you asked how we each feel. I have joint, muscle pain sometimes to the point I hobble. However, the next day it may be the other foot, hip whatever that's in pain. It's a crazy sickness alright. Some days I dryheave and cannot eat, only to feel better and hour later. Or the next day. I have tried glutten free but it didn't seem to help after a month and I couldn't do it anymore. Oh, I also get headaches that I know are related due to that same sick feeling. I have read that Sprue and celiac are almost the same disease. However, Sprue has no known cause but probebly "germs". Withouy my INSTANCE on a abdominal sonogram the liver cyst would have never been found. I'm basically in wait and see mode because I'm tired and also going through an exceptional sick stage. Thank you for "listening". Can anyone else please be as frank. DeDe
