All diets that work in reducing weight do so because of caloric restriction,
whether or not that is achieved by explicit counting.

Low fat eating isn't a diet by itself; for dieters trying to lose weight, this
is merely a tool for helping to limit calories. Fat is calorie-dense by
weight, and typically by volume also since fat is rarely bulky, the way
carbohydrates can be. If you eat a lot of fat, it's going to be hard to eat a
satisfying quantity of food without consuming too many calories. You can add
hundreds of calories to a meal by the inclusion of some kind of added fat,
without adding much to that meal's volume or weight. Fat is also easily
processed into stored fat, more so than carbohydrate and protein.

Among humans, there are populations that eat mostly meat, and very little
carbohydrate material. They do well. Populations that eat very little fat also
do well.

High fat eating is rare in the animal kingdom; low fat is the rule. Carnivorous
animals eat lean prey; they do not eat fattened livestock. Nature's low-carbers
eat a high protein diet that is simultanously low in fat and carbohydrates.
Their carbohydrate needs come from converting protein to sugar. The same
conversion happens in the human body.

Plant-eating animals also generally eat diets very low in fat. They still
have body fat, and can produce fatty milk. How is that?

Fat can be reduced to a very low fraction of the caloric intake with
no ill effects; you have to eat close to /no/ fat at all to notice any
problems, such as insomnia and anxiety.

So how fat are you, again?

Just get lost. Cheri is a long time poster in this forum who has helped
many people with different issues. Many of the regular folks in here
have used Atkins approach to improve their health. You on the other
hand, just came in here and used your first post to humiliate. Please
spread your garbage in other groups. You will not be missed in here.
Just get lost.

In other words, the question is taboo. Now why is that?

Noted, but irrelevant.

Too booked to get around to yours, apparently.
