Lack of sleep and muscle weekness
Hi, I forgot to ask this very important question to my sleepdoctor. In a previous post you might have read that a study showed that I wake up several times per night (I believe about 13 times) because of impaired breathing. Also this seems to result into 4% of REM sleep and about 60% of sleep efficiency. ... 10 Mar 2010 07:30

Follow up on an older post, especially for you , Sue.
Hi, quite some time ago I posted about my sleeping problems and what effects they could have and I got quite some useful comments by Sue. I mentioned a sleep study (the fifth) I had coming in Februari. Sue asked me to report on this study, so here I am. They find something this time! It seems, contrary to th... 5 Mar 2010 02:54
need help with red spot on nose
I am using a Resmed Mirage Quattro and have always had the famous red spot on the bridge of my nose. This morning I woke up to blood on my mask and my nose. I admit that I have the mask way too tight but if I loosen it even just a little bit it leaks really bad. Has anyone ever solved this red spot problem. I'v... 7 Mar 2010 21:49

New to group
I just turned in my Resmed Auto VPap for a Respironics Auto SV Advanced. I have obstructive and central apnea. Using the Resmed Auto VPap for almost 4 months I still had a average of 20 apnea issues in one hour. My study showed 57.5 per hour so that was a big improvement. I'm looking forward to see what this A... 26 Feb 2010 22:02

Hall's sugar free cough drops ?
My nasal passages are clogged horribly. I've been sucking on as sugar-free menthol drop as I go to bed. Do any of my sleep-disorder friends have any have with this? And, for my other toothsome friends, do think that lozenge will hurt my teeth or gums? I only use 3 or 4, at the most, a day. Thanks. ... 22 Feb 2010 15:20

Ditropan, aka Oxybutynin
Does anyone take it and, if so, what have your experiences been? It's been recommended by a urologist for some urinary problems that have recently cropped up. Looking for sleep medication options
Hi, I'd like to find out about sleep medication options. This seems like a good place to ask. I don't have insomnia, but I do take melatonin if I'm going to bed earlier than when my body is ready to sleep. It works great if I'm in bed and reading - I'll usually be asleep within 20 minutes. But if I take it wh... 23 Feb 2010 15:54
Question about sleep medications
Hi, I'm interested in finding out about sleeping medications that are non-addictive (as in, don't create a tolerance) and are powerful enough that I would become sleepy even if I were up and about, and I would need to go to bed right away. My natural sleeping schedule is 5AM - 2PM, but I work full time and ha... 17 Feb 2010 00:39
wasteful spending
This isn't helping U.S. healthcare costs: I just called Option One, which is the company that supplies my CPAP gear. I just need a replacement nasal pillow, which I see online for about $25. CPAP mask exhaust tube?
Hi all. After several years and many masks, I am finally able to use my CPAP every night with a Opus 360 nasal pillow mask. The one issue I have with it is that the exhuast air blows out of little holes straight out from around my nose. If I turn on my side toward my wife, it's blowing right at her. Has a... 19 Feb 2010 07:40
tonsils, uvula and soft tissue
I've had OSA for over 10 years, and am pretty thin (6' 3", 170 lbs). I was at the Doctor today for something totally different, and was talking to the P.A. and she asked whether or not I had ever talked to an ENT about surgical remedies for OSA. I told her that I had reviewed all the available ones, and that none ... 18 Feb 2010 15:09
High Street 'Stop-Snoring' Devices
Dear All, I've been looking at a device in a high street chemist which when it detects you snoring sends a small electrical pulse to wake you or at least awaken you enough to get you to stop snoring. What does anyone think of these. I can't take CPAP, and the hunt for a Mandibular Advancement Device is becoming o... 5 Feb 2010 18:28
