Adjusting pressure level on Respironics REMstar Plus LX
If anyone has the .pdf version of the clinician's manual for the REMstar Plus LX, I would very much appreciate it if you could email it to me. In lieu of the manual, I am actually looking for the steps in the manual for making titration level adjustments to this CPAP machine. Thanks for any assistance. joelbraun ... 22 Apr 2006 08:56
bloating challenges
I'm a newbie with CPAP (about a month) and have been very frustrated with bloating. The Doctor has turned the machine down from 11 to 9 to 7 saying that part of the problem is that the air is going down my esophogus to my stomach because the internal air pressure in my body cavity is not strong enough to pull it d... 7 Apr 2006 19:58

Positional apnea?
How much can your body position during sleep affect apneas (and hypopneas)? The reason that I ask, is that I've had 3 PSG's. For the first two, they only observed 5 apneas per hour, and so wouldn't treat. My preferred sleep position is on my side (either right or left). However, before the last sleep study (whi... 3 Apr 2006 17:37

She hasn't been able to get any other mask to fit well, so I hope this redesign is working for some people. If you want to reply via email please contact pancho(a)acadia.net (my... 26 Mar 2006 23:52
best ear plugs for sleeping
Hi there, I have a noisy upstairs neighbor, thin walls/floors and poor soundproofing and I can hear lots of walking around, water running, etc. at night. This is keeping me up. I've started using the cheap foam ear plugs from CVS and they work OK, but you really have to jam them in there to get a good seal, an... 11 Apr 2006 07:56

A sense of gravity
I'm channeling some really interesting knowledge right now. This spirit is telling me that our dreams are controlled by gravity. When the moon is in the sky it reduces earths gravitational pull, and like plants in the soil our bodies can measure gravity. The gravitational forces regulate our sleeping cycle and i... 21 Mar 2006 14:13
Isn't 18 too high?
My son just had his first sleep study and the tekky said 18 was the proper pressure. He (the son) is about 50, not obese, and has been snoring and having apneas for a while. They used an ultra mirage full face mask. Since this is his first machine, I don't see that it would be harmful to start out at, say, ... 1 Apr 2006 01:07
