sleeping on your stomach
For years I've thought of getting something like those massage tables, where your head is supported, face down, and you can breath through the hold in the head support. I don't think my throat collapses in that position, however, I might wake up with an extruded face, and a puddle of phlegm on the floor. I kno... 17 Sep 2008 16:35
Finally snoring help and way better breathing
Wow. I finally found help for my snoring and dry mouth problems. I have been using a new nasal dilator from Sweden called MegaVent. They are so darn simple. They're made from a soft plastic and are very comfortable to wear and boy do they ever help you breath better. I even wear them when I ride my bike or go on my... 15 Sep 2008 15:20
How does CPAP feel?
I keep reading about the difficulty of using a CPAP. Is it similar to trying to take a breath while your head is outside the window of a moving car? If the CPAP is always blowing, how do you exhale? I asked the doctor about BPAP and APAP, but he said those were for other conditions. ... 15 Sep 2008 11:13

Snoring and deep sleep
My partner told me I was snoring the other night and startled me. However, I don't recall my sleep being deep at all. It's like I was just dozing and in easily startled. I always thought that when you snore, you're in deep sleep? ... 18 Sep 2008 17:28
Italian speakers here?
I ran across the word "apnea" in a song by Luciano Ligabue (in Buonanotte alla Italia) and was at a bit of a loss as to how to translate it. My reference suggests "without breath" which seems a bit strong in context so I rendered it as short of breath. ".... Buonanotte all'Italia che ci ha il suo bel da fare... 17 Sep 2008 18:38

How to Tell When OSA Is 'Cured'?
I had WLS and have lost over 100lbs and am still losing. I now weigh 30lbs less than I did when I was originally diagnosed with OSA. My CPAP setting is 8.5, which isn't very high. I think my OSA may be gone. (Due to circumstances beyond my control, I slept for 5 nights without my machine.) Is there a "safe" wa... 10 Sep 2008 22:44
Odd Ambien results
I've had chronic, severe, intractable insomnia since 1992. I haven't slept a night without meds in sixteen years. In the beginning, Ambien worked well for about three years, but lost effectiveness. Since then, I've been on everything under the sun. Most simply dont work. Some do, for a few months up to three years,... 9 Sep 2008 18:00
