CPAP Medicare Rent/Purchase Options I have had my Medicare subsidized Remstar Plus CPAP unit for 10 months and now must choose between the two rent/purchase options. The "rental" option is subsidized by Medicare for another 5 months and then once every 6 months (same rate). The supplier retains ownership and maintains and or repairs the equ... 18 Nov 2005 15:16

Cleaning the tubing? How do you clean the tubing connecting the CPAP machine and the mask? (Or do you?) I wash mine out every so often by putting them over the tap so water runs through them, and then letting them drain and air-dry. Problem is, they often aren't dry by night time. Does it matter that they have residual tap water in ... 10 Dec 2005 03:31
Tempurpedic Pillow Thoughts? Hello! I recently bought a Tempurpedic Pillow in order to get some better neck and shoulder comfort, especially when at work. It has helped but in the past 2-3 weeks, I now wake up with terrible lower back pain while my neck and shoulder pain has nearly subsided. Did anyone else have these same problems? Th... 13 Nov 2005 15:57
AutoScan software for Autoset Spirit I have made an official request for data retrieval from my doctor. Usually I get a response a couple of weeks later. I am trying this because I got scared off of buying the Resmed setup myself. The previous night's fit, 95th centile pressure, and usage are available in the morning, but seem to be deleted for... 16 Nov 2005 13:11

What pressure can be expected for a non-apnea patient when patient would use an APAP I have a question. A person asked me advise about using an APAP. The person used the ResMed APAP for one night. Just to try. There were almost no apnea/hypopnea events. Only very low at the bottom of the graph a blue line for some hours. However, the pressure was for almost the whole night about 9 cm. How shou... 5 Nov 2005 08:54
bi-pap cpap auto-pap I'm going in for the follow up visit at the sleep clinic, filled with anxiety. Everyone in my live is assuring me I'll survive, and this will improve my life. We'll see. The air blowing against my exhalation drives me loony, and makes me feel like I'm drowning, even though "rationally" I know it's not so. I ap... 6 Nov 2005 05:13
General comment I have a wonderful APAP that makes a very positive change in my sleep and my wife's sleep. But it is really disappointing that my access to some features is frustrated. I can look into purchasing the clinician's manual, software, and cable, but have to pay for a doctor's approval first. I don't like that. ... 30 Oct 2005 08:00
stop breathing in the daytime? I am not going to get into the long version on the explanation of this, but I have had daytime apnea and it almost killed me. But I found out what was causing it! I know this sounds too simple [but after many weeks of research] I have found that i am very sensitive to caffeine. It seems that caffeine displaces thi... 13 Nov 2005 15:57 |
