From: Derek Lawler on 19 Mar 2007 18:24 I can't believe I am back on this group with a different injury. The torn back muscles from coughing back in Feb. have healed and the coughing abruptly stopped in time for me to go and have an angiogram, which proved the coronary arteries are clear. I stopped imbibing alcohol so there should be no more congestion, hence coughing.. This knee injury is a freak accident where two large dogs chasing each other in my friend's yard crashed into my right knee from the side and knocked me down. The pain is intolerable and I can't move the leg around but can stand on it enough to shuffle along. I have not gone to a doctor yet but hope to get a referral to an orthopedic surgeon after some MRI images of the knee joint. My question is: if I stay off the leg, keep it immobile as much as possible and let some time elapse, is it likely to heal by itself? I can't feel any abnormal crepitis and the bones etc. seem to be in correspondence with my left knee so nothing seems out of place. This is the type of injury that is commonplace in football I believe. Derek
