From: Guy on 17 Apr 2008 10:14 Hi, I have been post TX now for 4 months after 48 weeks of treatment. I still feel the side effects in the morning and it usually tapers off and I feel better during the second half of the day. Has anyone experienced the same thing after treatment ? I guess depending on the individual it can take 6 months or more for the side effects to go away. I read somewhere that for some people the side effects never go away. Was tested 3 months post treatment and liver enzymes are normal but Dr has not done a PCR since treatment ended. Genotype 1A, virus undetectable at 24 and 48 weeks. Thanks, Guy
From: dBo on 17 Apr 2008 15:50 Boy, do I remember feeling like that - "When is that part going to come where I just feel better and better every day??" It was a long year and I wanted to feel SO much better SO fast...but I do recall being told that it really takes a full 6 months for all the Drugs from Hell to be totally out of your system. And I was sooooo run down by the end. I'd have to say it was a good six months before I could honestly say I felt "better" - sure everything improved once the drugs stopped, the brain fog cleared and so on but I have to say that even today, a year and a half post tx I still find myself occassionally feeling like my brain and my energy have been improving. Be happy and Be Well and know that as time passes, one day at a time, things will get better. I was dragged out for a very long time after tx, and was very focused on that at first, waiting the magical moment, but as time passed and I stopped focusing on waiting to feel better, as I said, I just sort of "notice" improvements still, when I find myself doing something at work for example and thinking "Jeez, I couldn't even SEE that a year ago, and now it seems so clear." It will get better, Guy. Fear Not :) ~Deb
