After jogging 3 miles 3x/week (10 minute miles) for 15 years, I have
switched to walking. I am walking 3 miles every other day at 13 minute
miles. I am wearing Asics Kayano walkers. Since my conversion about a
month ago, I still continue to get fairly severe shin splints/pain for
the first mile and a half. Then it lessens. I continue to walk through
it.

Not sure why my shins have not yet adjusted to the different exercise.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

What worked for me during my walks, was to bend forward at the waist
just a little more.
