Next: Strongly considering ECT would like to hear from those who have tried it.
From: tootseug on 2 Aug 2008 14:55 I believe I likely have seasonal affective disorder. I live in the pacific northwest. I typically start having trouble in the fall with anxiety and low level depression. In years past I only did AD and occasion lorazepam, but this year I want to try light therapy. It is August now, and I want to get prepared, before the fall hits. My worst months seem to be October through early spring. The worst being Oct-Jan, definitely holiday exaserbated. A complicating factor is that I work 12 hour shifts and I work nights. 7pm to 7:30 am. 3 days/week. When I chatted with my doc last year about trying light therapy, he said "try it". Course, this was late spring by that time, so now, I want to buy. My question is, which light to buy, and also, how should I do it with my work schedule? Last year my doc suggested the Apollo Golite. I see now that there is the P1, P2, and M2. And other companies make the visors. Alot of the info on usenet is from 1998 and 2000. I wanted to get some current information if possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks |
