From: kiran.dpatil on 12 Jun 2007 09:44 Hi, I broke right hand scaphoid in April, as per doctor it was minimal displacement and we decided to put cast (including thumb) for 6 weeks, but that didn't help and have to put cast for 3 more weeks. As of today (after almost 10 weeks), it still didn't heal completely, though there is bit of improvement. I don't feel any pain at the location where the scaphoid bone is, except the pain due to stiff muscles. Now doctor is saying we can't continue to have the cast, start using your hand and suggested some exercises. He also mentions if pain returns I need to see the specialist to get the surgery done and put the pin through. Any thoughts if I should continue cast for some more time? Or see the specialist right away? Thanks, -Kiran
