From: Patti on 30 Jul 2008 15:35 Does it have to be men? Never mind diagnosis... I was under severe work stress for nearly 3 years with rocketing insulin requirements. Immediately it stopped I reduced insulin requriements by a third at least... it went gradually down and down, until I was on about half the doses that I had been. Now it's about to shoot up, but don't ask! Patti Hba1c 5.5 On Levemir and Novorapid + meds for BP and thyroid Join us at http://www.diabetes-support.org.uk "The friendly forum!"

As far as I remember stress has been known to be involved with diabetes onset from before I was Dxd (1955) a dog bite was blamed for my onset because there was no trace of diabetes on either side of my parents going back 3 generations. I would think shock is a form of stress. Stress is also known to make control worse same as colds/flu and such. I will do as I am told and not ask but I bet someone is tempted. ;) -- DaveT T1 Basal Beef Lente Bolus Humalog as required.

Some very interesting pathways - recommend the book. Nicky. T2 dx 05/04 + underactive thyroid D&E, 100ug thyroxine Last A1c 5.4% BMI 25
