Moi, I've already survived 2 "top management" regimes. I'm middle management if you want to give it a name. I've had bullying from both ends... the first regime bullied downwards... then I got bullied by the people I was managing who ganged up on me. Crazily I thought it was my fault. They all left. However the folks I manage now tell me how "supportive and nice" I am. And the 2nd "top manager" was great... she got shoved out by the Board. The Board appointed a new top manager. She's lasted 18 months and she's leaving at the end of this month. Why? Because the Board have bullied her. I told her "not surprising, that's how your predecessor went" I hate it because both of my bosses have been nice people. Once again her duties will devolve onto me for the interim until the Board decide what they'll do. I should really say "shove it" and retire completely, but I'm very well paid in an area that is notorious for low pay and unemployment and I'm 62. Shrug... at least this time I'll be wise enough to cry "stress" if I see my BGs rising and go sick for the 6 months I'm on full pay! From: Patti on 3 Aug 2008 13:43 Brilliant JC. I actually did once tell the Board, in an email to all of them that "if the meeting runs over as it did last time, and you all decide to continue whilst consuming your lunch, you will have to get someone else to minute it for the duration since I, as a diabetic, need to eat so that I do not pass out" Regrettably I wish I hadn't done it, since it resulted in the Chair of the meeting asking every 15 minutes "are you alright?" in a whisper guaranteed to be heard by the whole meeting! Anyway... thanks both to you and Nicky. Patti Hba1c 5.5 On Levemir and Novorapid + meds for BP and thyroid Join us at http://www.diabetes-support.org.uk "The friendly forum!"
