I use Stomahesive wafers and Eakins seals. Over time, I've had a lot
of crud pile up on the tile in my shower. My wife is about to banish
me to the bathroom with a metal tub. Does any one have any suggestions
on the best way to remove this residue from the tile without damaging
it?
Thanks!

Of course, I have no idea what you've already tried, but as a professional
cleaner, I have found that scrubbing using a plastic abrasive (scotchbrite
green) pad with Comet or Ajax abrasive cleaner and vinegar-water solution
will take anything off, and doesn't damage most surfaces. I've used this to
easily remove years of floorwax buildup from chrome baseboards when even a
scraper wouldn't do the job.
It's best to wear gloves, although it's not too harsh.

Use elbow grease if necessary.

If that fails and nobody else suggests anything, call the company and ask
about removal techniques. Oil-based cleaners such as orange oil may work
well, since they would destroy adhesive, but be sure to rinse the shower
well after using an oil-based cleanser, to avoid slipping next time you
shower.

Hope this helps.

I've found that a putty knife removes most of the crud, then what I do
is put a layer of liquid hand sanitizer on it and let it sit for
several minutes. For some reason the alcohol in the sanitizer seems to
break the adhesive bond. Then attack it with a scrub brush.

Good luck!

I use Everclear straight from the liquor store to clean off my skin and
any where else it touches. This not only removes the stickiness but also
sanitizes. I feel it's less toxic on skin then some of the chemical
agents.
