From: Brent on 20 Mar 2006 15:21 Hello, I am attempting to find a reliable, credible and up-to-date source of recommended nutritional intake. Could someone suggest specifically where I could find such information? So far my web searches show out of date data. It is my understanding that the new index for recommended nutritional information is now called Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs). Thanks in advance, Brent

see http://sankey.ws/dietref.html for links to several sources. Definitions keep changing, and different authorities use quite different definitions. Also they are usually based on a national population - not the same either. Treat them as advice, not hard and fast numbers, and always remember that they only cover the 85% or so people who have no identifiable medical condition. |
