The following part of this book in the section of Antidepressant Medications To Judge it: SYMPTOMS: Every child can be sad occasionally. However, to be diagnosed with depression, the childs symptoms must be present for at least two (2) weeks and represent a change from previous functioning. One of the following two (2) symptoms must be present: 1) depressed mood, or 2) loss of interest or pleasure.
