From: AlexD on 16 Feb 2005 18:17 I have been suffering from constant rectal pain for about 6 months now. It started right after I had a bladder infection, so I assumed the two were related and a urologist diagnosed me with a prostate infection. Long story short, none of his treatments or drugs worked, so he suggested I go to a GI doctor. The GI doctor said that I had IBS and prescribed me Nortriptyline (a tricyclic antidepressant). Has anyone else had this drug prescribed for IBS-C? Did it help and if so, about how long did it take?
From: Patrick on 1 Mar 2005 00:29 I have tried 25mg of Nortriptyline for my IBS (mostly constipated and upper right abdominal pain). I didn't have much success. I was on Nortriptyline for 8 weeks. email if you want for info. plynn28(a)yahoo.com "AlexD" <atb70(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1108595874.492530.95950(a)l41g2000cwc.googlegroups.com... >I have been suffering from constant rectal pain for about 6 months now. > It started right after I had a bladder infection, so I assumed the two > were related and a urologist diagnosed me with a prostate infection. > > Long story short, none of his treatments or drugs worked, so he > suggested I go to a GI doctor.
