The last couple of weeks, I have had serious issues with keeping my PP
blood glucose down after breakfast. First, my schedule has changed. I'm
getting to bed later and getting up later, but am averaging 8 hours of
sleep even with the change. This is a semi-permanent change due to work
scheduling.

My FBS has stayed where it should be. But the post breakfast (hour to 2
hours checked, doesn't seem to matter the range of time), has been high:

128
133
156
156
162
189
172
169
158
136
136
154
154
145

The 145 is today. I'm trending down from the time when it started being
high (around the 156 level as shown above). The levels above are from 9/21
till now, with a few post breakfast readings missing due to not checking
for whatever reason.

I'm keeping track of what I'm eating and lowering carbs while increasing
protein intake. This morning I had light cottage cheese for breakfast,
testing to see how it would go without added carbs (the cottage cheese has
6 grams of carbohydrate).

I'm open to suggestion. Other breakfast ideas have been egg with a half
piece of toast, high protein cereal (not having this again for breakfast,
but might have it later in the day), cottage cheese with fruit, etc.

The rest of the day, my BS readings are better and don't run high. Ideas?

eggs and bacon
eggs and ham
omelet
scrambled eggs

My standard breakfast these days is 3 eggs scrambled with heavy cream,
cooked in butter plus a mug of hot tea with a splash of milk and one
level teaspoon sugar.

Are you allergic to eggs? Vegetarian?

Six days a week I do: two eggs, two slices of bacon, one glass of tomato
juice and one half english muffin with margarine. Could easily dispense
with the muffin. The other day is one bowl of low carb cereal (Special K
High Protein) and tomato juice.

When I'm being very good about my exercise regimen I can get away with
half a grapefruit in place of the tomato juice. I also sometimes alternate
orange flavored Crystal Lite.

No, I'm just lazy in the mornings, but it would not be a big deal to make
them.

I've been shifting household "chores" to the mornings too in order to make
sure I'm getting some movement in. I go walk in the pool or work outside a
half hour each day for other exercise, but that doesn't help with the post
breakfast highs.
