From: Bert on 1 Dec 2007 12:45 If Ed Friedman is right about Dr. Leibowitz, why isn't everyone beating a path to his office? It seems to me, that it would be a fairly significant event in the annals of prostate cancer treatment if someone had an effective treatment for end stage prostate cancer. But other than a periodic anecdote here and there, one doesn't hear about this. I don't think he has yet to assert that he or Dr. Leibowitz has come up with the cure. But, his (and his) work is interesting. I think that might be why he ended with the smiley. I was curious.... are you connected with Cincinnati?
From: Bert on 1 Dec 2007 20:20 Thanks for responding, Steve. Also for pointing out the smiley... I had missed it. I've been on IHT for a number of years.. And my psa doubling time is pretty short -- 2-3 months. So I am always interested in what the options might be after my cancer becomes hormone refractory. No...not connected with Cincinnati. I live in York, Maine. I've not heard of "Xavier" much outside of Cincinnati where it is a long-standing and prominent church, high school, and college.

Xavier is the middle name of one of my grandchildren. Good memory on my treatment. I also noted the similarities in our PCa... I've been off treatment since March 06. Will likely restart treatment in March. So it will be two years without treatment. That's a good run.
