From: Steve on 1 Oct 2005 14:15 I just got over a really strong sinus infection. It effected my sinuses, ears, and upper respitory system. At the same time I had a crohn's flare up that made matters much worse. It seemed to go away, but a few days after I was feeling better I developed a really sharp pain in my chest. It happens when I breathe or turn to one side. It is really bad when I cough. I have been taking shallow breaths because of it. Sometimes when I cough a small amount of green/yellow flem comes out. Sometimes there is a little blood, but it is minimal. I saw a walk in doctor who conducted no tests other than listening to my lungs to see if they are clear. He said it all looks good and that the pain could basically be comming from my lungs being sore from coughing so much during my sickness. I am having a hard time excepting this as I have had many colds and never in my life (29) have I experienced anything like this. Had anyone ever had this before or could someone explain what could be happening? Thanks, Steve
From: Steve on 1 Oct 2005 14:32 I forgot to mention thta I do have a fair bit of white flem comming up. I was also using Nasacort but stopped using it a few days ago incase it was the cause of this. Costochondritis is one of well over 100 variations in the family of diseases of the autoimmune system; other widely known and widely suffered ones are rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and Crohn's disease. As a group, these diseases may be hard to diagnose properly. Recently developed medications are safer and more effective than the older ones, but individual reaction to any medication may differ--they help some people greatly, and others little or not at all. A good specialist will be able to recommend a variety of medications depending on the diagnosis and the patient's reaction to the treatment. The most commonly recommended specialist is a rheumatologist. Aside from controlling pain and reducing inflammation, some newer medications can modify the advance of the diseases and lessen the cumulative bodily damage that all these diseases tend to cause. -- Don Kirkman

I _Think_ I found the spot causing the pain. It's not in between my ribs. When I push down on my lungs in this spot it hurts. I think it is the only place, but it is hard to tell because the pain radiates. It seems to be on my left side, very close to the center, near where my rib cage ends. I also forgot to mention that I had bad heart burn the day before, but I thought it was caused from the cough drops I was using. Is it possible that this is related to crohn's? <Hawki63(a)sbcglobal.net> wrote in message news:m%A%e.2216$Fi3.845(a)newssvr29.news.prodigy.net... > > "Steve" <skoczor(a)sympatico.ca> wrote in message > news:snA%e.4469$l03.711239(a)news20.bellglobal.com... >>I just got over a really strong sinus infection.
