From: Dot S on 10 Jul 2005 05:16 I know that drinking soda is harmful for us with bone density problems because of the phosphates. I have a swallowing disorder which makes it difficult for me to swallow liquids without choking. When I drink soda, the fizziness helps me to "feel" the liquid in my throat, so that I have better control over getting it down properly. My question: Does anyone know if plain seltzer water contains phosphates too? It would be a big help to me if I were able to drink it, and maybe mix it with juice. Thank you. Dot

I am brand new to the Osteo group. Broke my fibula 3 days before my 33rd Birthday (3 weeks) and diagnosised with Osetopenia a week ago. I am now on day 2 of taking Forteo. I am also looking at lifestyle changes. Part is going to Gymn and start doing pool and light weight bearing lifting excerises. But I am true addict to Coke and Tea. I know caffeine needs to get cut, but I gotta worry about phosphates too? Thanks everyone David
From: Larry on 10 Jul 2005 17:49 Have you been to see a reputable Endocrinologist? I'd say it's highly unusual for a male age 33 to have developed primary ostepenia without some underlying cause. He clearly identified his excessive use of soda. Your bones develop while you grow. Larry wrote: > Have you been to see a reputable Endocrinologist?
