From: tom on 25 Jun 2008 15:15 The use of marijuana for medical reasons is a controversial issue, but numerous studies have suggested that it has medical value in treating patients with serious illnesses such as AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, glaucoma, and chronic pain. This is especially true for patients for whom conventional therapies are ineffective. Marijuana then becomes an important way to reduce their suffering. Please help keep access to this relief open. The Bush Administration unfortunately continues to arrest medical marijuana patients and their caregivers even though twelve states have legalized marijuana for medical use. But a bill was recently introduced in Congress that would protect patients and their caregivers, let states set their own medical marijuana policies, and change marijuana's legal status so doctors can prescribe it. Please support this bill and help protect medical marijuana patients. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/230140676?z00m=15492728
