Alan, let me take the heat. Just continue to support
the technical aspect of the group. There is where
the value resides. Hate of me is is a waste.

Most here try to develop a greater understanding
od diabetes via a collective effort. For so many
that will pay off.

Then you can use your last years as not being
near a vegetable. Then hear the bull about the wonderful
docs. My burn is about healed but it was excessively
expensive. And really mother nature did the job.

Dr Reid was a blessing to some and I lost the
original group of charter members. HIs wife used
to post here and the group acted like adults toward her.
The main group of posters were professionals.

I see so many gossips that do not understand diabetes
a scientific endeavor. A few come in and demand the groups
be modified to fit their wants. Most are totally unqualified to
make these demands. Too many suffer so much to allow this to go
unchallenged.

Guy, I try to understand. Think of me as a friend. Friends
are people who can argue with each other and disagree about
things - but still be mates and care about each other.

Try not to be so judgemental of all the different posts you
see here. They are all different people with their own,
different, values and reasons for being here to you, or to
me.

Keep posting, but I, and some others, would really
appreciate it if you concentrated a little more on the
positive and supportive and a lot less on the negative.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Hate is waste, full stop! I don't think there's really anybody here who
hates you. Just a few people who are a bit irritated.

Well, it certainly has for me.

Yes. She who wears hats, but doesn't type caps. She was called
Melinda, wasn't she? Her posts were utterly delightful.

We're all so different, Guy. What most of us have had to field is being
told we don't know how to live our own lives. And most of us here are
less than happy about the way our medical systems and doctors have
treated us. That's important, too. Lots of things, miscellaneous
things, affect our health as diabetics. They're all important.

This newsgroups isn't life, but like life, you mustn't take it too
seriously. :-)

Take care!

G'day Alan

I have to give Guy credit this time; his imprecision in
directing his words led to us both answering:-)

There was a time, in 2002 when I first came here when there
would have been 6 Alans answering. You, me, Alan Hardy, Old
Al, and a couple of others whose full nicks I've forgotten.

Not imprecision - Economy. :-)

Are we the only ones left? Actually, I'm not really fully 100% here.
I'm just posting over an SSH session directly on my ISP's newsserver.
I'm kind of swithering, whether to spend the energy to set up a proper
NNTP connection again, or just to drop in as a visitor, every now and
then. A few years back, I was spending FAR too much time on Usenet.

But I do want to keep in touch. If the various reports in the various
journals do crystallise into a cure for T1, or some approximation, I want
to be aware of it when it happens.

You too!
