I received a letter from everyone's favorite answer to anxiety disorder: The Midwest Center re: PRI (pharmacology research institute of california) and some clinical trials they're conducting. These clinical trials supposedly have all sorts of benefits for the guinea pigs, er test subjects involved. The problem... 24 Feb 2007 19:18

Now it's my grandma... My dad's mom just turned 97. She has Alzheimer's terribly bad. Dad was just there for a visit to celebrate her 97th, and other than not knowing him or anyone, health wise, she was fine. Well, yesterday Dad got a call. She's taken a turn for a worse and isn't expected to make it. Granted, she's had a *good* ... 19 Feb 2007 13:37
Update from Scuba Boy I decided to take some swimming lessons. I figure it's a bit like taking my meds. Why struggle and suffer when I can get some help. Maybe I'm doing something stupidly wrong, and an instructor can set me straight. I will admit that I've gotten a bit better on my own, however. First lesson is tomorrow. I'... 16 Mar 2007 03:01
Snowbound? Well it's been snowing almost all day and I can't go anywhere. The 1 inch of snow in the driveway is too much! OK, I'm being sarcastic, but realistic. My driveway is long and steep, no way would I attempt to go down it now. To give you an idea of my driveway... on a clear sunny day, I've COASTED down the ... 18 Feb 2007 12:57

Is a panic attack just a more severe version of an anxiety attack or are they two names for the same thing? I recently heard a psychologist say that a panic attack is when you are afraid you are going to die, go mad, or somethi... 18 Feb 2007 18:10
Thanks to All! I love this group; it's so supportive! I'm so happy that my doctor doesn't think the tumor is back, either, at least not yet. We've got our fingers crossed that it's gone. I am having anxiety today; I could feel it coming on in the car ride home yesterday. It's funny how an attack comes on after I have a stres... 18 Feb 2007 21:48
I just don't know how to go forward I have had several ups and downs in my career path. I used to sell Life Insurance and was pretty good at it. I won several honors from my company. I have always had to deal with social anxiety. People in the insurance industry used to get their energy from cigarettes and coffee. I used sugar and coffee. I was... 18 Feb 2007 18:10
Margrove (and whoever else cares to read this) ;-) Months ago I complained about these awful itching/prickling spells I started getting again. I first got it in high school but it almost went away so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Well it came back good and strong. I was convinced it was psychological and not physical due to the way the itching cou... 18 Feb 2007 17:39
Support Group I started looking for a support group that I can personally attend. My social phobias are really getting bad. I went down to the town hall and started inquiring about volunteering. I was glad to get home again just to be by myself. The self-imposed prison is no longer acceptable. I asked my neruopsych doctor ab... 18 Feb 2007 17:39 |
