Hi again. I have another question I was wondering if anyone here knows
the answer to. Last week I found out I'm Hypothyroid (yet have no
symptoms). Not on meds yet, but probably will be soon. Have been
dealing with Hashimoto's for some time.

But for the last month or so i've had a mild, yet kind of sharp, pain
in my neck that sometimes feels like my thyroid is hurting and
sometimes feels like it's running up the sides of my neck. It "moves
around" and is rather vague in pinpointing.

I also have been having a similar pain in my chest, mostly right in
the middle, sometimes a little to the right side. It seems to "move
around" in an area from just below my collar bone to about a hand's
width below. It is also mild, yet sharp, and hard to pinpoint because
it seems to "move around. It gets worse when inhaling/holding my
breath and after exercising (either lifting weights or doing
aerobics). Sometimes it hurts directly behind in my upper back and in
my right shoulder.

I'm 99% sure it's not my heart (doctor did an x-ray) or my lungs or
any kind of heartburn thing.

After all that, what I'm wondering, is could the pains in my neck and
chest/back/shoulder be cause by the thyroid issues? Or should I trudge
to the doctor or just continue to ignore it?

Amy,

I can only answer "maybe" to the possibility that some or all of the
symptoms you describe are due to thyroid. As many will tell you, the thyroid
affects every part of our bodies, so when it isn't functioning right, many
seemingly unrelated symptoms may well be caused or exacerbated by it. Does
the pain go away with a pain reliever such as Tylenol or Advil? Body aches
as well as localized discomfort in the area of the thyroid may well be
related to your hypothyroidism.

Best of luck,
Elizabeth

sounds like a pinched nerve ... an "Activator Method" Chiropractor is the
best on the market especially if you find a good one.

There are chiropractors who pretend to be an Activator Method practioner and
are not ... so you get the horror stories that way.

This kind of Chiropractic "Tests" each joint and then moves then if
necessary and the "Tests" the joint again.

If the tests 'Fail" .. then the Chiropractor tells you to go to surgery and
get some work done that way ... your joints are falling apart for some
reason and this needs to be sorted out why.

Degenerative Joint Disease, Disk Disease, Bone Cancer, needing surgery or a
laminectomy and stuff like that to fix what is breaking down.

This could be something simple and coincedental .. or more signs of you
dying as you age.

We all go to the grave ... the question poise for everyone is how do you
want to do it.

I refuse to live in fear ... so I change the emotional bathwater and have
the love burn though the fear.

Have to ask for Love, be open and willing to receive it and wait a few days.

It will come it ... it stings I have to admitt.

Makes the eyes water.

Good stuff, great family fun and the kids love it.

sumbuddie on da watchtower

Hi Amy,

Don't know if you've ever considered homoeopathy but a homoeopath
would love this symptom set - and maybe even find a remedy to match it
that helps you.

wadda you mean no symptoms....you just listed a bunch of symptoms.
I had the moving throat choke too...turned out my thyroid had grown
into the base of my tongue so when they went to remove the goiter,
they ended up disconnecting the tongue/thyroid thing, removing the
goiter, a mass, and the left lobe of my thyroid. just because it isnt
a 'standard' symptom doesnt mean it isnt a symptom. also, the
constant heartburn and occasional chest pain....never had them until 2
days after they removed my thyroid lobe. I think its all connected.
the thyroid controls everything and when it looses control it gets
this 'i cant get my way so i'm taking my ball and going home' type
attitude. my thyroid as it turned out was the cause of my mvp, my
papitations and my heart murmer...cant spell worth a darn, but in the
meantime, tell your doctor. if he tells you its in your head, tell
him you gonna get a new doctor. also the chest/back/shoulder thing
could be thyroid related fibromyalgia....which is no fun either.
