From: starwarsmum on 8 Mar 2007 17:42 Hi, I had an EGD done yesterday morning and he did 8 biopsies. (I have had one done before without biopsies and I had no problems afterwards.) I heard my GI tell the nurse that my esophagus looked inflamed but then forgot to ask him about it afterwards. I have had tons of pain since the procedure especially when I'm swallowing and after I've eaten. I do not have a fever though and it is better today than yesterday. I'm wondering if this is a normal thing and how long I can expect to have pain and difficulty swallowing. My throat is okay, it's the lower part of my esophagus that hurts. I found the biopsies painful when they were done (I was awake) which my doc said was normal. Thanks for any info/advice, I couldn't find anything online. Amy

As long as you're getting better not worse, I wouldn't be alarmed. HMc
