Since there are so few people here with these disorders, I'd suggest you
GOOGLE "PLMS cause", "PLMD cause", and "RLS cause", with the quotation
marks.

I'm not even sure that RLS is a sleep disorder. Is it?

From what I can tell, when RLS occuress at night, it is called PLMD or PLMIS
most of the time, but I have seen many people refer to the night time
sleeping problem as RLS, this I also refer to it as this for clarity.

I have again googled for hours looking at information on this disorder.
From what I find, I know that this disorder is generally much more comon
than people or doctors realize, as verified by sleep labs.

I can not find much about the cause of this, other than some people say it
is more pschylogical, but I think that refers more to the day time RLS than
the PLMD. I read that there is a IORN deficency that can cause PLMD, but I
know my IORN levels are good, so that is not a problem... Beyond this, I
have not found any answers to my question...

I have also not been able to find anyone or anything that tells me how much
your might improve in terms of fatigue / pain if you are sleeping properly.

I have tried several medications for PLMD, and none of them have seemed to
worked well at all for me. I have seen several specialists in my area for
the problem as well, at the major hospitals.

So I guess I am trying to determin if this is something that could be
causing a large problem for me or not, because my next step may be to go to
a specialist in another city for a consultation or multiple consultations...

It causes a enormous loss of sleep, I would define it as a sleep
disorder.

Hi, Jamie. I've been told that RLS is common in OSA patients, which
was certainly true in my case. Since having a CPAP, I haven't been
much bothered by it, unless I'm overly tires. It goes away again,
though, once I've had a good night's sleep.
