Just received my new Paradigm.
First thing I see is PARADIGMPAL software.
A. This software will not work on the MAC OS
B. How much pump function will I lose if I do not use this software?
C. Has anyone tried it on Virtual PC (if so what did you need in terms
of cables etc.?)

D. Should I return the pump?

E. Return the Mac & get a regular PC.

I never did see your profile come up on the IP mailing list, even though
I was looking for it... :-)
Maybe you should be asking there - with 5000+ members, someone has to
have had the same thing happen.

I have an Animas, so I can't help you. I don't use the software that
comes with my pump because AutoControl Medical (the CDN distributor) are
ripoff artists and the markup is too high.
I have no problems except I do have to do some paper record keeping.

You won't lose any functionality if you don't use the ParadigmPAL software,
just convenience. The primary function of the software is to let you save
pump settings on a computer and upload/download them to the pump. You can
read/write all the settings directly on the pump without using a computer at
all.

I haven't used Virtual PC, so I don't know if it would work with
ParadigmPAL. I don't think you'd need any additional cables, since the
software should include the required USB cable. It's kind of a complicated
connection: USB from computer to the Paradigm Link BG meter and then a
wireless link between the meter and the pump, but it seems to work reliably.
