From: Michael and Amanda J on 5 Aug 2008 21:13 Any updates on situations? Anything??? Ok, on my end OSS21 lost his job a month ago and has put in a few applications and is getting unemployment, though his dad and I are trying to get him on the ball and get a job and off unemployment. He just started dating a new girl (3rd in the last month) and so doesn't want to look for a job so he can spend more time with her. He brought her over to our house and let her sleep over without running it by us and I told him she had to go home. He won't even introduce her to us (we are not hunchbacks or rednecks so I don't see the problem). The next morning she was still there and his dad put it to him straight and told him she had to leave. Her parents (she just moved back in after moving out of her ex boyfriend's apartment) won't allow OSS to stay the night at their house either. I just don't want the ex-boyfriend issues showing up at my house, and hubby and I would like to see him take a relationship slowly. He ALWAYS lets a girl screw him up. Mentally and emotionally. And financially. SS20 (the one with the baby girl who is now 17 1/2 months old) has not had a job since December/January and refuses to get a job. I added him and OSS21 to my phone plan in November because they were doing so well and I wanted to save them some money on their cell phone bills (with the company they were with prior they were spending $20 more per month than what I would charge them). 20YO's bill continually went up from 15 pages per month to this last bill ws 94 pages of phone and text messaging. We were paying his auto insurance and cell phone bills since March because he didn't have a job and were trying to help out. The auto insurance because he takes his daughter (my granddaughter) with him and we wanted to make sure he was covered in case of an accident. We told him we can't pay anymore because we are bleeding money and he doesn't seem to care that we are sacrificing and he is not. His g/f (mother of his daughter) is getting fed up that he is not working and refuses to get a job. Right now they are living at her parents house and have been since they got out of rehab. She's already told him that if he will not get a job to help her take care of the baby, he has to leave. We've asked him why he won't work and his reply is "We have no one to watch the baby while we both work". Between her family and his, they have at anytime during the day at LEAST 8 people that can watch the baby. That has been his one complaint for the past 7 months. His other reply is "I don't want to work at a restaurant. It's demeaning." His grandmother and I both work for school districts - separate ones - and we both prepare hundreds of meals for kids, yet it's okay for us to "demean" ourselves but it's not for him. It's money! It covers the bills, puts food in my children's stomach's and a roof over their heads and clothes on their backs. If I have to demean myself forever that way for my kids, then that's the road I have to take. I just don't understand him anymore. Plus he got busted for stealing at a Walmart in January and has to take a course (4 days over two weekends) starting this month and ending middle of September that costs $440.00 of which he has none of it. Guess who gets to pay that? You've got it. Otherwise he gets a warrant put out for his arrest and goes to jail. Plus I'm not sure if I told you all that my mom moved in with us in December. Moved here from Phoenix. That whole situation is going to give me ulcers. We thought the drama was done last year, but we got hit with another dose of it before the year was up. I keep telling myself that she means well. She means well She means well Amanda
