Rectal Surgery I had my complete rectum removed due to cancer over 2 years ago.I use a colostomy and it is irreversible. Cancer appears to be cured,. FEEL DEPRESSED I was just wondering if anyone ever feels depressed about their ostomy"s. I fell like ppl is looking at my stomach, some like i'm a freak! Stool color Hi--- I'm an illeostomate since 1996. I ate a half of a good size cantaloupe and found my output color turned very dark, almost black. Then it cleared up. Does my Mom need a different brand of paste maybe? I haven't been replumbed myself, but I am care giver for Mom 75 now. She has had her ostomy for just over 3 years now.
