10 years on fosomax i was diagnosed w/ osteoporosis in 1996 at the age of 38...i am 48 now and have been taking fosomax for 10 years...i am in panic mode because fosomax is being blamed for osteocronosis ( dead jaw bone ) in some patients.. i have shown improvement in 10 years...i would like to think it was from the fosomax...i am ... 19 Apr 2006 17:11
Under 50 & just diagnosed I am 48 and don't seem to have any of the risk factors other than my mother recently being diagnosed at 68. She just had hip replacement surgery. Boniva side effect? Took my first Bonia yesterday. 12 hours after felt slight bone ache (possibly pyschosomatic), but I also fwlt so tired I went to be and slep for 11 1/2 hours the got up today laid in bed and pretty much have been acting like I have a cold without symptoms, except for the fatigue. Forteo v. Boniva I'm a 50 year old M diagnosed with osteoporosis in one hip and pena in other hip and back. Weird. No cause can be found. Doc has given me a choice: daily shot for 18 months or Boniva once a month. Seems like a no brainer, especially since the shot carries a small cancer risk. stomach problems worse with Boniva or Fosamax? I already have some stomach problems thanks to Celebrex (which I've stopped). I've been taking Fosamax weekly for two years and it doesn't seem to make my stomach any worse. I was wondering if Boniva monthly is harder on the stomach than Fosamax?
