Oral drugs vs supositories for UC?

From: me on 12 Jun 2008 11:30 I'm age 50 male with UC diagnosed abt three years ago. I'm currently using only Canasa suppositories..... one at night before bed. fairly good results but nor perfect...still have problems. I saw an add on TV last night for 30 day supply of oral drug Lialda....so I signed up for it and go the coupon Now I just have to get the doc to make a scrip for me for it. I'm curious what people think abt oral ASA vs suppository style ASA and if its worth me giving the oral meds a try? see link http://www.lialda.com/aboutLialda/aboutLialda.asp
From: Anon on 12 Jun 2008 21:00 I had problems with Canasa, but in my opinion a drug delivered to the problem, that doesn't go throughout your body is better. While I hated oral steroids, the cortisone suppositories and enemas were very effective for me. Again, different people have different results.
