For nearly the entire month of October I have been very ill with IBS
and Diverticulitis. I'm still very weak. My fault. I craved a cold
glass of milk and made toast with pumpernickle bread with seeds I
didn't know were there until it was too late. The Rice Dream doesn't
seem to bother me at all and I'm hoping to not gain weight from it so
I'm limiting my daily intake.

The National CFIDS Foundation (NCF) Fall Edition -- The National Forum
has arrived and I'd like to thank the NCF's Medical Committee on their
research and recent announcement.

Report Card Grades Federal Agency Media Policies

-- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has an excellent
media policy, with provisions that allow scientists to state their
personal views and review press releases about their research. When it
comes to implementation, however, many scientists say they are not
allowed to speak freely to the media, and many fear retaliation for
doing so. UCS gave the CDC an A for its policy, but a "needs
improvement" for implementation.

The following makes me wonder about Humphrey's County, TN.
We have the highest cancer rate of all counties in TN. Pancreatic
cancer took the lives of two neighbors recently and several days ago
there was another "Cruise for a cure" -- HWY 70 was a mass of motor
cycle's and it was quite wonderful watching it all. Please say a
prayer for all my neighbors and friends I've met since moving to Tn in
1993.
