One theory I have heard for women living longer than men is
because the menstruate and this removes iron from the body
and supposedly excess iron leads to aging.

Men are more likely to die by murder, homicide, suicide, accident, and war.
Women for the most part, until the past few decades, have escaped stress in
the workplace. There are a lot of factors why women live longer and most
are environmental.

Most are but some factors are not known. Even when you account for
murder, homicide, accidents, war and all the enviro factors they still
live longer.
People don't know why.

If you remove cardiovascular issues as the cause of death, there is no
significant difference. Over the last 20 years the difference between
male and female life expectancy has lessened in many countries,
basically (partially) because of heart bypass surgery etc etc.
Naturally, there are other social determinants that play a part.
