Hi all!

Has anyone here tried the Nutrisystem plan? They package meals (sans a few
fresh fruits and veggies you need to pick up) in these new "room
temperature" packages, and ship you a month's worth at a time.

I tried something like this once a few years ago, and (to quote Mike Meyers)
"The portions were so small I ate the deliveryman". I'm hoping with the
exercise, and the reduction in my appetite lately, I can pull it off now.

Anybody have any experiences to relate?

Chris

I lost 37 pounds at NS in six weeks. When I failed to lose in weeks7
and 8 they said I was cheating and wanted me to pay the registration
fee again or drop out.

I left and lost another 50 pounds on my own. I liked their food.
(I generally like food kor would not have been 86 pound overweight)
The counselling was a joke.

Despite that, if I didn't have my current health restrictions from
celiac disease I would go back there if I couldn't do it on my own.

I got the food for several months, at least partly because I hate to
cook.

I mostly liked the snacks! The dinners were fine, although I did add
some chicken or vegetables to them. No need to pay for breakfasts, but
it was part of the package. Lunches were fine.

One problem was they were quite high in sodium, all of them.

The portions seemed fine to me, plus they were pretty good in fiber.

The main problem for me was that my weight problem comes from overeating
and getting food on the way home from night shifts and eating whatever
there is around on night shifts. So I didn't lose weight because of my
own lack of willpower.

I also figured that I could just as easily buy, say, South Beach frozen
food or other supermarket stuff for the meals that I was actually eating
the Nutrisystem, and skip paying for snacks and breakfasts that I didn't
want or need or could buy the same in supermarket (oatmeal, etc.)

When I called to cancel, the sales guy was quite rude. I told him there
was too much sodium and he aggressively asked, "Are you SURE your blood
pressure is high from the food?" etc. and harangued me.
