Hi. Thanks for your words of wisdom and support. This is embarressing,
but when I
checked your reply, and my own message, I put the wrong date. She died
on
12/04/07. As of this date, it has been only 2 weeks. I apologize for
my typo, but
found it difficult to concentrate lately. I'll try to make my post as
soon as I can.

You're not alone, Patrick; I've had cats in my family since I was a
young man, 30-plus years ago.

As each passed on, due to age-related illnesses, especially kidney
failures, - the grief was and remains far more painful than if chunks
of my heart were literally ripped out.

Yes, time, while never 'healing' the wounds, does kind of make them
recede a bit; Or we couldn't survive. Of that, I'm sure.

In time, some of us, if/when ready to do so, may find and adopt other
cats - never to 'replace' a loved one, since that's impossible! - But
*as additional* beloved ones to share our remaining life with; the
give and take of love, with these beings - IMO God's finest work, each
of them.

Amen. After we've each passed on, may we all be Eternally and joyouly
reunited in Heaven with all whom we have ever loved, - humans and non-
humans! To never get parted from any of one another again!

Then, and from then on, all our agonies in this realm of existence
(sometimes called a 'vale of tears') will have been worthwhile.

So sorry for your loss. It's so hard...I've lost 3 cats and my husband
since 2000. It does get easier with time. I own a Yahoo Group, Furangels if
you are interested in joining - we talk about our babies, current and past.
Once again, my sympathy. I know how much it hurts. Carol
