From: Jamie Dolan on 12 Jan 2006 21:26 HI, I read some of the material you guys told me about in referance to magnesium. I decided to give it a try. I checked at walmart and walgreens and all I could find is magnesium as magnesium oxide. Does it get asorbed ok? Is this an ok kind to get? Also any recomendations on what does I should start with, I say a couple different things on dosing and I'm not sure where to start... Any thoughts?? Thanks! -Jamie
From: lightlady on 12 Jan 2006 21:34 wwell, first off, don't take collace *and* magnesium ( i saw your posst in the other group) you won't be leaving the loo anytime soon. magnesium helps ease constipation so both together could be toooo much...try the magnesium first, you might not need the collace...read the bottle to get the dosage for the brand you bought. -- lynn "Jamie Dolan" <jamiedolan(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:MdExf.2086$_S7.1613(a)newssvr14.news.prodigy.com... > HI, > > I read some of the material you guys told me about in referance to > magnesium. From: lightlady on 13 Jan 2006 07:12 ummm, didn't know you were trying to ease the symptoms of FMS... i thought you were dealing with the ibs thang, where you start with the lowest dose and then ramp up til you get the results you want ( can take a few days to a few weeks, i ramp up very slowly, hence the few weeks <g>) and by ramping up slowly you will hopefully find the fm gets relief as well ( don't know about migraines) -- lynn "Jamie Dolan" <jamiedolan(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:yoExf.2099$_S7.1763(a)newssvr14.news.prodigy.com... > Thanks for letting me know. "When selecting a magnesium product, try magnesium citrate first; it's the form that the body absorbs best. Magnesium oxide is often the cheapest form available, but it's also the most poorly absorbed." You may also want to consider malic acid...You can find a combination of malic acid and Magnesium, often called Magnesium Malate...I believe someone previously suggested that... "Magnesium's role in relaxing contracted or stiff muscles makes it helpful for relieving the aching associated with fibromyalgia...Taking the mineral with malic acid is often recommended for this purpose because the acid is believed to enhance the absorption and fatigue-fighting actions of magnesium."
