I am using high fat diet and high protein diet to lose weight, control blood glucose and control blood lipids. "Always Learning" do us all a favor and pig out on low fat ice cream for the next five years.

Hmm...just by someone providing links to sites advocating a low carb diet proves nothing. I can give you links to sites proclaiming exactly the opposite e.g. http://www.sideroad.com/Weight_Loss/low-carb-diet-danger.html Have a look at the references the guy quotes at the bottom of his article. If people want to lose weight then they need to be sensible. Using the Atkins diet for a short period of time will not be dangerous. In fact the diet now advocated by the people at Atkins is far more along the lines of main stream science than it was in its infancy. I wonder why? http://theapothecary.890m.com

Your faint praise implies that there is something wrong with doing Atkins long term. Another misguided poster who thinks Atkins is some short term diet, to just lose weight. Because main stream science has finally started to accept in some small measure that Atkins was right. With studies showing it works, actually improves lipid levels, and is the most effective way to lose weight, finally some in the medical community are finally recognizing the truth.
