We have finally completed the diagnostic process (two appointments with
paediatrician, assessment by speech therapist, assessment form to be
filled in by nursery), and it confirms what we've been increasingly
certain of for a long time; Jamie has mild autistic spectrum disorder.

Now I feel like we're really part of the cool gang. Do we get a decoder
ring? ;-)

All the best,

No psychiatrist or psychologist involved in the diagnostic process?

We actually use invisible writing - to reveal the hidden messages in
these posts, just take a pair of polaroid sunglasses and rotate them
in front of your screen until it shows up :)

I went to an "autism awareness barbecue" tonight and I got a piece of a
jigsaw puzzle with a pin glued to the back so I could pin it to my clothing.
If you want it, you can have it.

No - it's diagnosed by a community paediatrician (a paediatrician who
specialises in developmental disorders/problems).
