Hello,

I lost my only son Chris almost 5 years ago. He was 19 years old and
living on his own when he was murdered during a fight defending his
girlfriend.

These past 5 years has been a long journey for me, and even though
today, right now, I'm in a better place, I've had quite a difficult
time accepting this 5 year mark. It's just SO unbelievable! it's been
FIVE years...

I am always in search of fellow bereaved parents, especially those who
either live near me, or lost their child due to similar circumstances.
We all need all the support we can get, as we know "outsiders" just
don't understand our pain.

Light & Peace,
Cherri

Cherri,

I am so sorry for the loss of your son Chris. My heart goes out to
you. You are not alone, and we all truly understand the pain you are
feeling. As I am writing to you, I want to say so much....... but you
know (forgive me) I am at a loss for words. Today... I feel empty and
everything I want to say seems trite. The only thing that I feel to
say to you now is... truly I understand, we all understand, all the
pain that goes with losing a child, all the anger, craziness, despair,
tears, lack of sleep, inertia, isolation... and I could go on. Take
care of yourself, and like your closing words...... may you
find....light and peace...moment by moment day by day.
