I've identified my primary irritant in IBS-C. Caffeine has been my
problem. After 3 years, I finally almost completely eliminated
caffeine, and less than 48 hours later, I am normal.

I was drinking 2 to 3 cups of coffee in the morning followed by a
large ice tea in the afternoon. Now, I'm drinking around 1/4 cup of
coffee in the morning, and I am fine.

Maybe you should try this too?

Don't bother flaming.

I recently tried to quit drinking sodas as I believe this to be true
for me also. I drink 2 to 3 a day. I quit cold turkey for two days,
but then soon realized i'm addicted to caffeine. I woke up with a
massive headache, extremely pissed off, freezing cold but sweating and
a sore throat. I drank a small coke and almost instantly felt
better.

I believe caffeine sets off my IBS-D. I've been experimenting with
different foods for a long time, and get varied results. The only
constant is soda. With it's caffeine and tons of sugar, it's next for
me to quit. But i've gotta do it slowly so I don't go on a mass
killing spree.

Hi,
I still don't know what sets my IBM hurting. Stress I do believe is it...I
hurt my leg and have been going to the wound care at the hospital twice a
week having it wrapped and unwrapped and it's really been hurting, so
wouldn't you know I get IBM. I really needed that with everything else here
at Christmas..
