I have bp and i know that i take prozac and lamictal...it works but i still hate feeling the way i do. Does anyone else use drugs or alcohol to deal with their bp? i know that i am not alone! If so what kind of drugs are you taking....and i dont mean perscription...
From: skip on 6 Apr 2006 08:28 My only other vices on a regular basis is caffeine and cigarettes. I'm a social margarita sort, but I don't think the free world is ready for me to be on something. I'm hyper enough as it is, but people tend to like me that way. The other night I was restless (as if this is new) and I had a 1/2 glass of my favorite red wine instead of popping an anxiety pill. It really didn't effect me one way or another so I took my dog out and took a for sale sign from someone elses property and put it on the lawn of a neighbor I can't stand. Ok another vice- distraction practical joke. I know this wasn't the answer that you were looking for, but maybe try something different? I know opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. From: Snell on 6 Apr 2006 16:12 I replied earlier to this post but I think that the moderator squelched it. I suggested a very mild illegal drug, to be used with great care. It's superior to alcohol, by far, and if used at the appropriate time of day, it can offer a dissociation that can be helpful--you can "observe" your emotion-thoughts. The drug is not good for taking while at work or doing risky and/or dangerous activities. I'm sure I'm gonna get a lot of heat for this, so let me just refer everyone to 420's original post, and what question she asked. YMMV. Snell

Please contact your pdoc ASAP to discuss a potential medication change. Taking illegal drugs or alcohol can be very dangerous for us.
