Greetings everybody I am a newbie and I am sick of weighing 170kg.
(375lbs) My doctor told me if I lose a lot weight my diabeties will

true
the traditional cure for diabetes is a high fibre, low fat, zero refined
sugar diet with walking, or better swimmming, as your exercise compnent

5 small meals each day

small beakfast of high fibre carbohydrate with skimmed mikls and low fat
cottage cheese
or an egg boiled or poached or a glass of skimmed milk

3 houres later a tiny snack eg a small fruit

another 3 hours later fish or fat free meat or chicken (no skin) with as
much salad as you like

3 hours later a snack half as slice of rye bread or black bread or any
bread ewith 6 to 7% fibre - any low calorie open sandwich filling / topping

finally 3 hours later one and a half pieces of ryebread
hot merals need tohave same enrgy and fibre content

treat it as a sport
have fun

you won't feel hungry and you will have plenty of energy

if you must have butter or margerines ( I don�t) it must be a scraping

any sport is a disipline about training every day
in two years you will be a new man / woman
fitter and more enrgetic and more sexy

all diets work in the short term
but this was given my by a danish hospital specialising in the after
care of diabetic patients

It is a life tiome choice and a permanent change in life style

drinks?

water - from the tap if safe

tea coffee no sugar or creme

no bottled drinks and zero alcohol

no supermarket prepared diet foods too much fat and salt

high quality fresh vegetables, often eaten raw, and fruits with small
amounts of protein 80 to 120 grams a day according to hieght and sex


I aim for zero salt - good for the heart - you get enough salt
naturally in the feresh vegetables

zero sugar - sweet treats are in the single small fruits (well 5 to 10
grapes)

The sport or discipline is in your self control
best if you do your own shopping and cooking

social eating in the family is a real problem because of the emotions
from your mother (alive or in memory)

tackle your emotional problems with counselling - help phones

take command of your own mouth :-)

learn to *enjoy* new foods and tastes

too fst but no diabetes or strokes or heart attacks (yet)

I have let my driving license runout and walk or bus or train everywhere
well fly too
