From: zhoubo97 on 8 Jan 2006 23:35 Hi, I am from China. My aunt was diagnosed with colorectal cancer 1.5 yrs ago. She did surgery and has received chemotherapy for 10 times. Our family members all see her obviously getting better and better. We are all thinking she will defeat the cancer. But today the doctors told us they found a 5cm diameter tumor in her liver. I extremely doubt this result. My aunt received an examination only 3 month ago. the doctor did not find this tumor at that time. The doctor's explanation to this is the cancer cell replicate themself very fast. But I doubt that. Can a 5cm diameter tumor develop in 3 months? Please give me some help, some information, some internet resource about that. I can ask my aunt to do examination again or we can ask the hospital to be responsible for their delinquency. Thank you.

The growth of cancers is a complex issue. Cell doubling time, cell loss factor, and many other issues.
