Hi all,
Well, I lost my health insurance almost two years ago and haven't been
able to see a doctor since then. My boss said he would help me pay
for some, but I can't get approved. They keep rejecting me because I
have diabetes and high blood pressure. I am not overweight, I work
out, try to eat right (thanks to you all) :) but no luck. Any
ideas?
Cindy

Some insurance companies may be interested in covering you if
diabetes and high blood pressure are excluded from what's
covered. You might want to think about whether such coverage
is worth having, though, before you ask.

Cindy, if your State has an Insurance Fund, that is who I would contact.
They should be able to help you find someone to insure you.

Good luck! I was told at my initial diagnosis of diabetes never to divorce
my husband because I'd never get insurance on my own.

Yes, her best bet might be going to work for a school district or someplace
like that, where a lot of employees and the union dictates that they have to
insure everybody no matter what pre-existing conditions they have. Trying to
obtain it on your own is almost impossible unless you're very rich, in which
case you wouldn't need it anyway. Sad really.
