From: dw on 2 Jan 2006 18:46 Any of you have experience with pedometers? I recently got a book called "The Step Diet Book" that's all about walking to lose weight. According to the book (page 4): "Average Number of Steps Per Day By Age: Males 13-15 6749 16-17 8283 18-29 6382 30-39 5819 40-49 6312 50-59 5703 60+ 4515 Females 13-15 8130 16-17 6256 18-29 5318 30-39 5162 40-49 5780 50-59 4537 60+ 4504" DO THESE SOUND LIKE REASONABLE NUMBERs TO YOU? dw
From: vkirkman on 3 Jan 2006 11:59 I'm 59 years old, and recently started the 10,000 steps program. I started out by determining my average steps per day, and it was right at 5,700. zi'm now averaging 10,000 and have lost 35 pounds. Brother Vern http://www.brothervern.bravehost.com

As many as I need to get where I need or want to go, whether it's around the block or a 10 mile run. :) bj |
