FYI
Socialist = Nazi = Communist = Dictatorship = Liberal (By actual definition)

Lactose intolerance has killed many.
Same with peanuts.
Be that as it may, I didn't mention death. Many have severe reaction to
lactose.
Fewer, gluten.

They have gone so far as to put a warning label stating that a product was
even manufactured where peanuts have been within the same facility.

Get an education.

Full stop. The government can't effectively regulate prescription
drugs, and you want to add vitamins to the mix? You can't possibly
think the FDA needs something else to "regulate." You're about 25
years behind the times if you think FDA is effective in doing its job.
Most of FDA's budget is paid for by the pharmaceuticals, so it isn't
surprising that more than 100,000 people are dying each year (we're
talking *just* the USA) from "proper use and dispensing" of medication.
What makes it so proper? And ADE reporting is rarely utilized by
doctors and hospitals, so IOM has said the real numbers are likely to
be much worse. So-called regulatory oversight is already a miserable
failure, and you want to throw it a bone. Wise up.

Hundreds of reliable supplement makers conform to GMP standards, so
this is a very tired argument. Sure, it still applies to internet
orders for a $4 bottle of ginseng from somewhere in china, but if
that's your idea of value, you won't ante up for something reputable
anyway.

Not unless you're living in the 1960s. Competition, rather than
regulation, has been the answer to these complaints, so you might want
to alert your friends to the availability of reputable products (many
assayed and produced using GMP standards), from companies like:

Yes, I love it. This whole debate revolves around the wrong premise that
RYR is safer and implicit in it is that IT'S NATURAL. I wonder how many
involved in this debate get their Vitamin C from a tablet because getting it
from oranges is a bit chancy and low yield? Of course the synthetic Vitamin
C is seen by those people who take it as equivalent to what they'd get from
oranges or other fruit. The debate has revealed that a statin is a statin
is a statin, whether in RYR or in a tablet, and they both carry similiar
perils. So yes, I am loving the IT'S NATURAL vs. it contains a statin and
statins can have nasty side effects debate. IMO the IT'S NATURAL folk have
lost the debate. Here. Have some hemlock. IT'S NATURAL.

Natural should be favored over synthetic in most cases because natural
contains cofactors (look at Vitamin Es as an example). But just because
something is natural doesn't mean it doesn't contain things which could
potentially harm us.

T,
The main reason that RYR is safer than any statin is because it contains a
much lower dose of statin-like compounds. The daily dose of RYR contains
about 5 mg of lovastatin. Compare this to a 80 mg of prescription Mevacor
(Lovastatin). As you may know, a very low dose of a medication may not
produce negative side effects whereas a really high dose of that same
medication may produce serious side effects. There are other reasons that
RYR is safer than prescription statins. However, anyone that develops
serious side effects from prescription statins should NOT take RYR. Doctor
Cohen discusses this issue in his statin book. Upon request, I'll provide
the title of the book.
Jason
