Hi everyone,

My name's Dave.

I had never considered that I might have something that could be as
specifically definied as Tourette Syndrome... But I think I may have it.

Hi Dave
Sometimes TS is hard to diagnose. I found out that it was TS that I
had when I was 42. In fact, it was May 31, 1992. I had watched
episodes of L.A. Law and 20/20 and saw people with TS. I then
starting asking questions. I have been able to live a more normal
life through medications and acceptance of my limitations. I
neruologist can help you confirm TS. Just write down your symptoms
and you can get a diagnosis. Where you go from there is that maybe
you need some meds. The doctor asked me "What symptoms are most
problematic to you?" I went from there to get some releif from
anxiety - my most problematic symptom.

Welcome aboard. Have you looked up the diagnostic criteria in DSM IV? As
Fred said, you can almost make your own diagnosis. Whether you attempt to
treat the condition or simply understand it may depend on what and how
severe your symptoms are. I didn't realize I had TS until I was in my late
50s, and never had much trouble over it.
