HI all, there seem to be plenty of creams, natural therapies etc.

But what do they do when I guess if is internal as I can push it back
in. Gets quite hard, has reduced over last few days.

It is the straining from flare ups in BM that brings it on.

Anyone ever had one removed or surgically dealt with?

Thanks
Phil

Yeah, I had a skin tag removed a few weeks ago along with getting a fistula
laid open. 3 weeks ago - it's still healing. Mind you, 3 days after the
surgery I was in less pain than I was before. I had had haemorrhoids
constantly for about 5 months prior to getting the skin tag removed. Now
the aggravation is gone, I have none. I believe it's a vicious cycle. The
more you strain, the more you get them. The worse they are, the more you
strain. Good luck with yours.

I had an internal hemorrhoid treated/removed with banding about 4? 5? years
ago. What they did was place a special rubber band around it. It drys up,
and falls off.

It was an outpatient procedure. Outside of the great discomfort of placing
the band, there was no pain for me. I have not had any problem since.

I have UC. What led up to finding it and treating it was that suddenly I
appeared to have a bad UC flare, with lots of blood. Tried repeated enemas
for treatment. Saw the dr. He put me on a course of prednazone for several
weeks. That did not stop the bleeding either. He had a look with a
sigmoidoscopy. The hemorrhoid was found to be the problem, and I had it
taken care of.

I do understand that not all hemorrhoids can be treated this way. It was
appropriate for mine and it worked well.

There is one other treatment I had before I had the main surgery. My gastro
used lasers on me. They worked for about a year, but my poop shoot was just
in need of a major overhaul.
It's really only painful when he inside frying the hemorrhoids. I had to
have it done in three sessions. I guess it depends on how badly the
situation is.
I would recommend (if anyone was to choose this method) that you make sure
your doctor knows what he is doing. The laser can burn right through your
rectum and if that happens you could be in big trouble.
